"The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory." Exodus 15:2 Really diving into musical worship both on and off stage has been one of the most wonderful things to happen in my early college years. There's nothing like being completely free and surrendering your all at the top of your lungs and with your hands lifted high.

The story of Hosea is just so sweet. As I've been diving into this story of Hosea and his unfaithful wife Gomer that parallels with God and His unfaithful nation of Israel, along with having conversations with good friends about it, we realized how love is a choice. God chooses to love us, also giving us the choice to love Him back. He furiously loves us consistently and persistently. What is even more beautiful is that even we stray, choosing not to love Him, He seeks us out and brings us back Home. When we are unfaithful, He constantly chooses to deeply love us. How beautiful is that? "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Taking on 18 credit hours, having a job, and being heavily involved in a campus ministry really began to weigh on me. What had seemed would be a very exciting year, was looking to discourage instead.
Pleasing others and fulfilling their desires came first during that week of not being still, even with seemingly Christ-centered situations. I even went through a panic moment of asking God if everything I was a part of, if it all was even what I was supposed to be doing. Today, He calmed my heart and called me to the top of the Teachers College to view the desires of His heart, which He made known to me are what He's trying to embed into my own heart. My major, my community, all of these things that He has put into my way were quickly obscured by the darkness of the enemy, but the light of His mission trip for me lit up my quiet joy today. What an encouragement to know that He is before all things. Therefore, He has already been where we are now. God is literally walking us along a path that He has already gone through. What a reassurance that none of it is new to Him. He knows what He's doing! Simply trust. Verses for when you're in "God's Waiting Room"
I stumbled upon a blog that highlighted being in a season of waiting, and it not only gave verses for encouragement but also suggested prayers and praise to give to God in this just as paramount time of your life. If you're impatient like me, these verses are incredibly helpful to dig into and hold onto. |
